Founded by Joe Montgomery in the early 1970s, Cannondale bikes are known the world over. Market leaders in aluminuium frames, Cannondale is named after a train station in Connecticut.
The first frames manufactured were for racing and touring - Cannondale mountain bikes came later. Featuring thicker aluminum tubing, the frames were much stiffer. Cannondale is credited with introducing innovations that have been accepted industry-wide.
Currently, Cannondale manufactures Mountain bikes in full suspension and hardtail varieties, Road bikes, Recreation bikes, Urban bikes and Speciality bikes (Tandems for example).
